My “number 8” photo from 2017 is of my daughter:
Any parent knows that your children grow up too fast. This photo, in particular, represents that special time between childhood and adolescence to me.
I had been in one room of our house and passed through the den, where this picture was taken. I saw her illuminated by the light from the computer screen, and I had been wanting to get a photo like that for some time.
Once I had the photo, the job, as always was to process it. I originally went for a matte effect, but it didn’t truly represent the memory for me. I found it better for me to increase contrast using curves and levels in Photoshop. I also increased the luminosity of the blue channel to add more of an “electronic” look to the light from the computer’s screen.
