A Little About Me …

Tim Evans Hattiesburg photographerI’m originally from Quitman, Mississippi, but I’ve lived throughout the state. I’ve also lived in Florida, Rhode Island (and back to Mississippi) while I was in the U.S. Navy. I’ve called Hattiesburg home since late 2003. I’ve raised two kids here, and Hattiesburg is definitely home.

In addition to photographing weddings, families, senior portraits, and pets, I also do some freelance photojournalism for the Hattiesburg American. I’ve also had some work purchased by U.S. News & World Report.

Working With Me

Personally, and I hope you see this in this site’s content, I consider myself a pretty funny guy. I’ve always thought life is too short to take it seriously.

That allows me to put my clients at ease right off the bat, and get photos that brings out not only who they truly are. It’s hard to take a good photo if you’re nervous, and I like to think that working with me is like having a good friend photograph you. You can relax and know you are in safe hands, allowing you to look your best.

My Style

I like to call my style “punch you in the mouth” color. That’s not to say I don’t like experimenting with other styles, but my favorites will always be bold and colorful. Recently I’ve been playing around with a more “airy,” desaturated style.

Some of my favorite photos

Why I like it
This is my play on the “bride looking out a window” photo that is so popular. I just couldn’t resist the light coming through the curtains. The white undershirt, gray pants, and black hat just lend themselves to a black and white photo. I applied a slight matte effect to give some softness to the image.
Why I Like It

This is one of the new processing styles I’ve been playing around with, an airy, desaturated look. For certain images, like this one with a bright, sunlit background, it really works. Plus,  reds and pinks sometimes get oversaturated on Canon cameras, so this really helps with that.

Why I Like It

Obviously, this isn’t a photo that I was paid to make. It’s purely personal. I wanted to include a personal photo to help you get to know me a little. I’m a huge DIsney fan, and this is one of my favorite from my most recent trip to Disney World.
